Corrections

Every page lists its sources and the date they were last checked. If you find a discrepancy, tell us which page and which section, and give the source you are comparing against. Confirmed corrections are made on the page itself.

Editorial standards

We write from primary sources, mainly documents published by the BIPM, and explain them in our own words. We do not republish official documents and do not publish figures without a source a reader can check. Facts that still need checking are marked in square brackets.

We use artificial intelligence tools to help find sources, prepare drafts and check texts, and we do so ethically and openly. We work with several independent tools and cross-check their results against one another, and every figure and quotation is verified against its source. Nothing is published without the approval of the editorial team, which takes responsibility for every text on the site.
